Last month local Lib Dem campaigner David Lee marched through central London with 50,000 people at The Wave.
The march was to show the strength of popular will to find an international agreement on tackling climate change at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
David Lee said, "It was great to join with people from many organisations demanding that politicians listen and work towards concrete action at the Copenhagen summit.
"A desire to protect the environment is in the DNA of Liberal Democrats. It's one of the key areas that defines our party and distinguishes us from the others.
"It's not surprising really that we were the only mainstream party with any significant presence at this march. Liberal Democrats have once again shown voters that if they care about the environment and want something done to stop climate change, then ours is the only party they can count on."
David joined Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg MP and Lib Dem Environment spokesman Simon Hughes MP. Nick Clegg said, "Lib Dems have campaigned for the environment for 20 years- consistently ahead of the game of all other parties."
David Lee agrees with Susan Kramer, Lib Dem MP for Richmond, that the Tory party has just changed their mind to support the environment, but if they can change their mind so radically once, they can change it again.
